Cape Town paid internships offer great job opportunities, especially if you are looking for something in the tourism, media or marketing field. There are many students who are on the look out for a good opportunity where they can work during the school holidays and Cape Town is a great city to be in, even when you are looking to one day go into government jobs. You can show your fullest potential when working as an intern, and you will soon work your way higher up in the company and find yourself in a position you have always wanted to be in.

They might not be all that easy to find, but looking online and in your local advertising spaces should help you to find Cape Town paid internships that you will enjoy. The job opportunities are just about endless, but paid internships are normally only available at the bigger companies. Marketing, media and tourism are big in the Mother City, so if this is the career path you choose; it shouldn’t be difficult for you to find a great opportunity. Students will only be able to work during holidays and possibly on weekends, so companies won’t employ them permanently, but it is always worth a try.

Remember that not all internships are paid ones, so if you get one of the government jobs as an intern, first make sure whether it is paid or unpaid before you agree to do the work. What you can do is approach an employment agency and give them your CV along with your job interests and let them see what they can find for you. There are many options for you to choose from when you are looking for Cape Town paid internships, all you have to do is decide which of them is best for you.

Many students are searching for job opportunities during their school holidays and internships in Cape Town are some of the most popular jobs on the market. Cape Town has it all from the bustling and dynamic city centre, to beautiful wine lands and coastlines. It is one of South Africa’s creative hubs, and is a great place to look for careers in marketing, the media and tourism. It is also home to South Africa’s Parliament and so is a great place to pursue government jobs or internships. Finding an internship is a great opportunity and allows for the potential to develop yourself further. Who knows – it may even result in a full-time career!

If you are interested in internships in Cape Town there are a number of places to start looking for job opportunities. One of the most productive ways is to approach a human resources or placement agency with your CV and your job interests. These employment agencies will have the best resources and knowledge of the work opportunities for students and young people. They will be able to evaluate your level of skill and expertise which could help to put you into the job of your dreams. If you would prefer to fly solo, then social networking sites like gumtree.co.za or simple job search engines like careerjet.co.za may help you to find the opportunity you are after.

The tourism industry is flourishing in the Cape and across South Africa. With this industry comes great potential for marketing of our unique natural and cultural heritage. If you feel like you are able to provide the creative spirit behind one of these campaigns, then you should search online for particular programmes that you feel committed to and send them your CV.

Not all internships are paid internships, so you might want to take that into consideration when you apply. However, an internship is a great opportunity to learn new skills, and to get some experience in the industry you are interested in. There is most certainly no better place to do it than finding internships in Cape Town.

Making the Most of an Internship Opportunity

Making the most of an internship opportunity is one of the best things that you can do for your career. Although the majority of internships available pay very little or nothing at all, they are a great way to build up a name for yourself as well as network with people in the industry you want to get in to. There is something to be said for a student or recent graduate who is willing to give up his or her time for little or no reimbursement in order to gain knowledge.

Having been involved in internships in the past, here are some tips that I can give you on making the most of an internship opportunity. Firstly, do not be afraid to speak up and show the organisation that you have something to contribute. Many people feel that as they are there on an internship that they do not have the right to give their opinion but this is what the majority of organisations are looking for. They have provided you with the chance to help them get a fresh perspective on things. Secondly, be enthusiastic. Although many internships make you do redundant and boring work for the first week, if you show that you are enthusiastic and want to be there many companies will provide you with further opportunity to show your strengths. Thirdly, try and make as many contacts as possible. In an ideal world an internship will turn in to a full time job but realistically many organisations do not have the capacity to offer all of their internee’s permanent opportunities. This is why it is essential to network as the people you meet may realise that you have potential and can recommend you to other people.

Starting out in the “real world” can be very scary, especially if the internship that you have taken is your first real job but there really isn’t any reason to be afraid. If you show initiative, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn then any organisation will appreciate that and it may turn in to something more permanent for you. So take my advice and try making the most of an internship opportunity.
